Testimonials

Jeff Gillespie -- Assistant Softball Coach, Samford

“I have known and done business with Michael Hill for 15+ years and could not imagine having anyone else do my work or renovations on my field. His employees are well trained, courteous and work efficiently to get the job done. I can’t tell you the times I have had an emergency with sprinkler, a water leak or just wanted my infield surface prepped for a big game that he has provided a crew on a Saturday morning or late during the week to help me out. Michael’s years of experience and knowledge are second to none, he is trustworthy, and pricing is always competitive.”

Jeff Caufield -- Deputy Superintendent, Jefferson County Schools

“STS has been a partner on several projects in Jefferson County. Their knowledge of not only the technical aspects of the job but also the procedures for dealing with bids, funding, and detailed record keeping is very helpful. Mike and Lee make a great team!“

Bill Miller -- Director of Parks and Recreation, City of Helena

“The City of Helena has been partners with Specialty Turf for many years. They handle most of the major field maintenance, irrigation issues and New Development projects. Owner Mike Hill has a very experienced staff who does excellent work and are always professional while on the job site. Whether our project is as easy as replacing an irrigation head or as big as constructing a competition field, they have always gone above and beyond to make sure it is done the correct way. Over the years they have truly become part of our community. I would recommend Specialty Turf to anyone looking for a great company to trust with any project big or small.”

Tim Hamm -- Parks Director, City of Alabaster

“Specialty Turf Supply has done multiple jobs for me over the years. Some of those [jobs] have been sod replacement, laser leveling, cutting in warning tracks on ball fields, maintenance of equipment and the latest was a full revamp of Veterans Park that included 5 turf ball fields, bleacher covers, new playground, pickleball courts, sidewalks, parking lot dealing and striping, expansion of our lakes, updates to our Veterans Memorial, and added sidewalks. Mike and Lee are great to work with and get things done in a timely and efficient manner.”

Myra Miles -- Director of Athletics, Vestavia Hills School System

“I cannot say enough good things about Mike Hill and his Specialty Turf Supply team. They have gone above and beyond on the job at our stadium. We are proud to say that we will have the best turf in the state of Alabama, and our turf will be the only field with this turf in the state. They have delivered everything that they promised and done everything with professionalism and pride. I have never seen a harder working crew in my 32-year career as a coach and Athletic Director. As the Vestavia Hills School System’s Athletic Director, I HIGHLY recommend Mike and his team for your next project.”
